Andy Burgess
Andy Burgess (b. 1969) is a British-born painter and collage artist known for his vibrant depictions of modernist and contemporary architecture. Born in London and now based in Tucson, Arizona, Burgess creates large-scale paintings that explore the relationship between architecture, abstraction, and modern art. Drawing inspiration from both celebrated mid-century homes and lesser-known examples of International Style architecture, his compositions transform built environments through bold geometry, saturated color, and carefully structured perspectives.
Burgess’s work has been exhibited internationally and is held in numerous public and private collections. In 2012, the University of Arizona Museum of Art presented Paper City, his first museum exhibition. He later completed printmaking residencies at Tandem Press in Madison, Wisconsin, and in 2018 the Tucson Museum of Art presented his solo exhibition Mid-Century Perspectives. That same year, Nazraeli Press published his first monograph, Modernist House Paintings: Andy Burgess.
Burgess lives and works in Tucson, Arizona.
